The Cerratelli Foundation
The Art Centre Cerratelli a theatrical and cinematographic dressmaker's was founded in 1916 in Florence thanks to the will of the baritone Arturo Cerratelli one of the first singers of the Bohème.
The Foundation Cerratelli of San Giuliano Terme, inaugurated in October 2005, contains the inheritence and the estate of more than 25000 costumes of this big Florentine Art House
Famous producers, costume-designers and actors have collaborated to make up this collection of incomparable cultural and historic merit, which represents the history and the tradition of the theatre, cinema and television.
The Foundation organizes important exibitions and events to show the public the extraordinary costumes created by important masters.
Inside the Foundation there is also a collection of sketches, pictures, posters, theatre bills and a conspicuous number of scene pictures.
It is possible to rent the 25000 historic costumes
The producer Franco Zeffirelli is the Foundation's president of Honour
The exibitons of the historic costumes by the Foundation Cerratelli are open from monday to friday from 16.00 until 19.30 (in the morning by reservation)
