The Baths of San Giuliano Terme have antique origins from the Middle Ages. In the second half of the XVIIIth century San Giuliano became an ideal holiday resort. In 1743 the Baths were renovated by the Gran Duke Francesco di Lorena, husband of the Empress Maria Teresa of Austria.The success of the Baths of San Giuliano was confermed by many famous guests, who came on holiday between the '18th and 19th centuries: european rulers, politicians and famous people of the period.During this period the Kafè Haus was built, symbol of the splendor of the Baths, meeting-place for writers of the period. Today it is possible to get there following a path inside the olive grove behind the Baths.The spa water is ideal for respiratory problems and develops the immune system. Besides thermal programs, the Baths offer wonderful walks through the paths, that surround the place; a unique occasion to admire the view and the artistic and cultural heritage of the area.

The Hammam of the Grand Dukes, a suggestive steam bath in a small thermal grotto which can be reached through a short tunnel built in the 18th century and re-discovered many years ago. A small, constant cascade of thermal water at 38°C fills an illuminated stone pool where one can bathe for a relaxing 20 minutes
