Beaches
Marina Vecchiano:
This is a very wide beach and is the closest beach to San Giuliano Terme (15 km). Once in Migliarino cross the Aurelia and continue, crossing beautiful dunes that are located immediately after passing the pine forest, the so-called Macchia Migliarino. The dunes are very characteristic and are very worth a visit. Never too busy, it is ideal for people who want to take two steps in quiet contact with nature. The beach is mostly free, accessible from a parking lot.

Marina di Pisa:
Small seaside resort south of Bocca d' Arno (15 km from Pisa) with the presence of some services and facilities: beaches, campgrounds, restaurants, playground and boat club. The beach is closed in many small sandy bays protected from waves by artificial reefs made of stone so called “rocks” along the seafront road. Pleasant also the seafront promenade. In Marina di Pisa there are four major squares: Viviani, Balearic Islands, Gorgona and Sardegna. The streets are all parallel to the seafront or transverse.
On nice days without haze you can see the islands: Capraia, Elba and Gorgona. These islands are reachable in summer by ferry that leaves daily from Bocca d‘Arno.

Tirrenia:
Following the waterfront just after Marina di Pisa you will find Tirrenia, a town that lives mainly on tourism. In fact there are many facilities, 2 golf courses, restaurants, pizzerias and many beaches. There are also 3 free beaches and a pine wood equipped with a playground, picnic area. The beach is fine light sand, to the north of the town it is large, on average 50 meters wide, but continuing towards the town centre it also reaches the 70 - 80 meters width at the last lidos. The bordering Calambrone is owned by the Ministry of Defense or its agents.

Torre del Lago Puccini
Torre del Lago is a town of Viareggio (Lucca) with around 11,000 inhabitants. It Is 20 km from Pisa. Torre del Lago is famous for its marina, very busy especially in summer, for the presence of restaurants and the Lecciona beach. Torre del Lago is participating in the project Friendly Versilia.

It is famous for the Villa Puccini that overlooks the lake Massaciuccoli, which became a museum after the death of the artist Giacomo Puccini. The Chapel hosts his mortal remains. In the museum, now managed by Friends of the Houses of Giacomo Puccini, chaired by Simonetta Puccini, granddaughter of the Master, you can visit the studio with the piano and portraits of the composer in various periods of his life and funeral mask from Brussels where The musician died, the veranda with pictures of friends Macchiaioli painters.

Viareggio

Viareggio is a city located in northern Tuscany, Italy, on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. With a population of over 63,000 it is the main centre of the northern Tuscan Riviera known as Versilia, and the second largest city within the Province of Lucca.

It is known as a seaside resort as well as being the home of the famous carnival of Viareggio (dating back to 1873), and its papier-mâché floats, which (since 1925), parade along the promenade known as "Passeggiata a mare", in the weeks preceding Easter. The symbol of the carnival of Viareggio and its official mask is Burlamacco, designed and invented by Uberto Bonetti in 1930.
