Buti
Located on
the eastern side of the Pisan Mountains, in the valley of Monte
Serra, Buti has very ancient origins, probably dating back to Roman
times. Buti about the year 1000 seemed surrounded by fortifications
called castles. Today these fortifications have a structure of a
medieval village.
beautiful view of Castle Tonini
Castel
Tonini overlooks the village of Buti which contains some buildings
of the XVI and XVII century, including Tonini called Villa Medici.
Of ancient origin are also the Pieve di San Giovanni Battista in the
centre of the town and the Church of San Francesco in the Romanesque
style. Among the narrow streets that characterize the town we find
the Teatro Di Bartolo which has all the characteristics of nineteenth
century theaters.
